 Re: Brakes and lack thereof That is the vac port for the power brakes. Mine was plumbed to the large vac port on the front of my Edelbrock carb. Don't know if its "manifold vac" or what, but it needs hooked up to constant vac or you won't have power brakes.

Re: Brakes and lack thereof There should be a hose running from the large white port on the front of the booster to a vacuum source on the intake or carb.

Re: Brakes and lack thereof Looks like if you pull the vac line from the carb it can be manifold vac or ported vac, you want manifold vac. Ported vac is used for dizzy advance & emissions junk, it doesn't see vac till the throttle is opened, and you want vac all the time, or you won't have power brakes unless you are on the gas (a little counter productive). I was trying to remember stuff from when I installed my carb 15 years ago.
