I'm getting closer to buying gears and lockers for my 60s in the EB. Going 538s with an eaton elocker in front and welded in rear. Question is are ther any good books or articles on how to do this and what special tools are required. I have removed and put in lockers and gears before but never did a fresh install.

Dial indicator to measure backlash
A hone to make the ID of your current bearings larger so they slide on and off with ease. You use them only to set the gear set up and then press your new ones on just before final assembly.

Patterning grease (may be part of your kit already)

I would also add

-access to the oven to heat the gears up
-a separator to pull apart the yoke when trying to set pinion depth
-inch lb torque wrench
