Axle seal replacement
Seems that the drivers side axle is leaking on drews 74. How big a pain in the ass is this going to be to repair/replace?

Re: Axle seal replacement
Rear is stupid easy. Just pull the brake drum, remove the axle with the bearing, and swap out the seal. A lobotomized chimpanzee could do it in an hour assuming no stuck bolts. Front is more of a pain, as it has to be done from inside the pumpkin.

Re: Axle seal replacement
As Justin said, rears are pretty easy.
Fronts - the carrier has to come out. Little more involved.

Re: Axle seal replacement
I have done mine. The worst part is the gear oil smell.

Re: Axle seal replacement
Rears were relatively easy, no big deal at all. Of course it lead to discovery of other issues but isnt that part of the charm of these rigs... And yes, the chimp his son and the monkey nephew got it done in a few hours...
