YAY!!
I hate driving that stretch of road lately. You can sometimes hear the bullets zipping through the trees overhead, and as you get close, you can see the drunken idiots shooting towards the road because all of the trees away from the road have been shot down to nubs.

Nothing but a good thing, if you ask me. Rampart Range was down right dangerous due to the idiots out there. It only makes sense they would migrate somewhere else. Any time I went there it was with a buddy. One to pull security while the other shot. If, on the rare occasion, I went alone it was always my policy to have one loaded pistol on my, in addition to the other I was firing.
I think the final straw was when some genius tried to clear his pistol by turn it left and racking the slide, finger probably on the trigger. Wound up shooting the guy next to him.
Dragonman's is now in the news too. Pyrotechnic accident last night took the life of a 51 year old female employ in what was described as a gruesome manner. I imagine he will be under some scrutiny and maybe shut down soon. His dirt berm barrier isn't exactly a warm fuzzy comfort for his neighbors.
I've been thinking about Ben Loman's Gun Club lately. Co-workers tell me its decent, despite being all the way out by Calhan. Certainly couldn't spend more on gas and fees than a yearly membership to Whispering Pines.

As much as I hate to see areas closed for just about anything, if morons can't police themselves, then so be it.
But as Zack said, they'll just find another place.

Just a heads up for the Springs guys.(Shooting restrictions)
Hey, guess what. Rampart Range isnt just closed to shooting now. We've got a 150 acre wild fire that just started this morning. Garden of the Gods park, Cave of the Winds, Waldo Canyon are all closed. Hwy 24 to Woodland Park is still open for now.

On the bright side, the fire restrictions should end once all the trees in the western half of CO are gone.

Was kind of hoping this POS house would be in the path. I could use a new, larger garage. Close, but not close enough.

Re: Just a heads up for the Springs guys.(Shooting restricti
Between the fires in the Springs, Estes Park, Ft. Collins, etc. and it being a million degrees outside, this is getting brutal.

We were at the Zoo when it started. Had a pretty good vantage point from the Shrine up there. Scary stuff!!!

Today the smoke is hugging the ground and has settled throughout Colorado Springs. It smells like camping - - - everywhere. Last night's sunset through the smoke plume

You've got a pretty good vantage point from there Clay. Got a pretty cool picture Sunday from our house. Got a few from the Will Rogers Shrine on Saturday just hours after it started. I'll see if I can get them uploaded.
With no AC, we have no choice but to have the windows open. Hope the wind switches back North.

Re: Just a heads up for the Springs guys.(Shooting restricti
Hoping for the best for all you guys. Too many homes have been lost already. Like Rox, we are surrounded by smoke up here in the foothills, but in no danger. Sleeping by a campfire with no air is a good description, but no fishing out the door!
