Hello all. Aaron here. I've spent the last year-ish stalking your tips and this is my first post so it's probably high time that I actually introduce myself. I've wanted a classic bronc since I received my learners permit and seemed to always find a reason why I couldn't get one. 20 years later, last September, my wife had noticed me doing my monthly scouring of the net to see what broncs were out there.
On an early Saturday morning last year, my wife woke up and said, "Remember that red one you showed me the other night? Why don't we go look at it today. You can find reasons the rest of your life that will hinder you ever making this dream reality. Before you know it, we'll probably have a kid/kids and it will never happen."
I'm glad I married her, so that she would finally give me the kick in the ass I needed to get out there. We did go look at that truck in the Springs and it wasn't billed as advertised. I was bummed out because it was the only one of about 20 that I wanted to actually go look at since I didn't want a full project. Up the street, my wife noticed a yellow bronco that wasn't for sale but told me to go talk to him anyways. I
ged her off because it wasn't for sale but wife is persistent once she has decided she wants something. She walked with me up the street and we did talk to the guy. Low and behold, he wasn't selling but he wasn't especially partial to keeping it either. Two days later, that Bronco, or as she is known now "Goldilocks," was sitting in my driveway. A couple days later, we did find out we were having our first kid so I guess timing is everything. He was born May 31st and I would venture to guess that he will inherit a pretty sweet ride when he's the right age.
Everything about the rig has been great so far but I would like to do the EFI swap. I'm running the stock 302 right now and I've toyed with numerous ideas: pulling an entire mustang engine to swap with mine, or getting the edelbrock pro flo EFI kit, or going with the ideas that I saw 66Crawler post the other day to an EFI question during the week with this kit
http://www.rjminjectiontech.com I'd love to hear some ideas on this and some referrals for who does the best work. Possibly RJLougee?
I'm definitely not tech ready yet nor am I ready to be able to spot great finds in the salvage yards but I have been learning from all of your posts which has been amazing. I'ts rare to see a group like yours that comes together like you guys for the pure sake of enjoyment.
