In-tank pump
Well, more problems with the EFI swap...the 2nd (replaced after 1500 miles) pump is only building 15-20 psi so I'm dropping the tank again and probably going to have to replace. Has anybody had these types of problems? What could be the cause?

Re: In-tank pump
Yeah, both have been loud but now both have died within months of being installed.....changed the filter and pickup screen last time....such a pain to drop the tank.

Is it an old tank? Maybe it has some junk in it.

Re: In-tank pump
In, it the Sherman that I bought this last July for the EFI swap. Going to pull it, clean it and hope for the best.

Re: In-tank pump
Got the tank dropped this evening...everything looks ok, just a bit of dirt in there (BMF could have cleaned some out but it doesn't surprise me anymore).
One thing that looks a like strange is the hard line from the pump looks to be kinked were it bends...anyone have an uninstalled Sherman/BC Tank to look at the in-tank hard line?

Re: In-tank pump
Bump...What about a FPR because I'm having the same issues again. Is there a way to test the FPR or is it best to just replace it? Fuel pressure has dropped to 25-30psi even with a new fuel filter. I don't want to drop this thing again! Any help would be great. I have a hard time thinking a very small amount of dirt could kill a fuel pump.

Re: In-tank pump
I just installed the same tank in my Sons EB and there was a slight bend in the hard line in the tank, but certainly not a "kink". Yours may have gotten extra bent when the rubber line from the pump was pushed onto it???
If you are driving the EB any distance in the heat you should be getting vapor lock issues if the FPR is bad. It's not an absolute; however, in the heat we've had lately I would expect it.
There are a number of good write-ups out there on the Mustang sites about testing the fuel pump, etc... Just make sure you're reading the '87-95ish versions and not the later returnless system advice. HTH, Joe

Re: In-tank pump
Just got the tank dropped again this afternoon and will be tearing into it tomorrow...FPR seems to be good so looking into the pump as of right now.
This EFI swap has been nothing but issues, about ready to just give up on it
