New guy in GJ
New owner of an old Ford Bronco. Figured I would introduce myself on here....
I live in the GJ area and I'm sure i'll be blowing up the board with questions as I start to work on my new ride!

Re: New guy in GJ
I'm sure Gunni will be happy to hear he has another Bronco brother in his neck of the woods. Welcome aboard! Now let's see some pics of that new acquisition!
How about some details on it? Year, motor, lift, plans for it, etc.

Re: New guy in GJ
Welcome,
Lets see some pics & plans for your ride. If you are going to get crazy with it, you have Clint at Battlement Fab right in GJ. He's coming out with some sweet parts for our Broncos. If you are ever in Gunnison, PM me.

Re: New guy in GJ
Thanks for the welcome guys! It's a '71 with a 5.0 motor in it. The guy I got it from had it set up to crawl so it has a spool in the rear (9 inch) which I plan on taking out this weekend if I get time. I'd like to put a detroit locker in there but it has an air locker up front so if i can get the $$$ together, i may just put one in the back as well. Other than that, its a work in progress.
My goal it to make it a bit more "streetable" as I'd like to drive it to and from the mesa, ouray, etc...

Re: New guy in GJ
Nice! if your wanting to make it more "streetable" I would shy away from the detroit and save the money for another ARB.

Re: New guy in GJ
x2. I've got ARBs front and rear in mine and appreciate it's street manners since I drive it around town a decent amount. I don't have very much experience with full lockers on asphalt, but given the trail behavior when I'm locked up I'd be a little nervous about driving one on slick surfaces at speed.

Re: New guy in GJ
I don't mind a locker at all on the street. They aren't that bad, I drove a Detroit Locker around on 33"s on the street, rain or snow for 15 years, now I've got a Lock Rite. Keep your foot off the skinny pedal around corners and its not a big deal. I've thought about the ARB, but the chance of loosing a compressor or air seal has me shying away from them. I want to do an Ox locked front, and keep full auto locker in the rear. PM sent.

So besides Gunni, nobody else on this side of the mountains? I thought there'd be more out this way...

Re: New guy in GJ
There are a few from Montrose, Aztec, Ouray, but not many. Most the activity is from the front range. If you are in GJ, stop into Battlement Fab, Clint is very cool and builds some awesome Bronco stuff.
