Bronco Round Robin Tech Day
For those unfamiliar with the term, Round Robin training is a term the military uses. It basically describes a training event where several small tasks are trained, usually taking about an hour each, and following each block the small groups at each station rotate to the next station.
I was thinking it might be fun to do something like this. Maybe have four separate tech classes set up on the same day. Each station manned by an "instructor", someone very proficient on that particular task, and able to quickly walk 2-3 or even more people through that task, before they rotate on to the next.
So, how about some ideas of tech classes that might take about an hour to accomplish, start to finish, provided all tools and parts are on hand.
I've personally never done rear axle bearings and know I could probably use some very soon. I don't know that both axles could be done in an hour, but maybe knock one out in an hour?
Maybe a class on setting timing and idle mixture on a carb?
What do you guys think?
Still working on ideas where something as moderately large as this could take place. Maybe try and find an indoor venue that could be rented out for the day.

An hour to do wheel bearings on one side is realistic if a shop press is available. Sounds good to me. Maybe an hour's worth of wiring work as well?

No need for a vise although it makes it easier, it can be done with just a hammer and some 4x4 wood pieces, I think that would be a more beneficial way to show people so they could do trail repairs, and wheel bearings are doable in an hour on both sides w/out a press, easiest if you have a good long punch, a brass drift, a BFH, and if possible a race driver set, I have all of these tools and could help run the class, also some basic engine driveability/ runability diagnostics would be my suggestion and I would gladly help with that too

Re: Bronco Round Robin Tech Day
One idea to get some new guys out would be to teach some basics. Everyone has to start somewhere, and not everyone is "smart" (or dumb) enough to just tear stuff apart and hope they can get it back together right.
Basic brake jobs, disks & drums Change/check fluids Tune up- plugs, wires, cap & rotor Bleeding brakes Front wheel bearings/hub Ball joints Front axle ujoints Adjusting clutch Setting up/rebuilding carbs Fixing/adjusting/cleaning door handles, windows, etc Turn signal cam replacement Any headlights/taillights that aren't working, fuses that keep blowing- for basic electrical diagnosis & some soldering instruction Fuel pump, waterpump, radiator, t-stat replacement Valve covers or even intake gaskets Basic torch & welder instruction
Any other Bronco quarks?
