[Sold] 5.5" Toms Bronco suspension kit
For sale is a never installed (to my knowledge) 5.5" Toms Bronco suspension kit. I've decided to go another route so I have no use for it. I have no idea how old the parts are but they seem to be in good condition even after rolling around in the back of my truck for 7 months. There are chips and nicks on some of the parts from being stored for so long... I was assured all the parts needed to install the kit were included. I'm asking $600 for the kit.

Hmm very tempting. But I'll have to pass as I don't wanna go that high. Its a good deal for someone. Good luck.

Re: 5.5" Toms Bronco suspension kit
Greg - didn't you decide new spring buckets were in the works? You could raise them up and end up with close to the lift you want. You'd have to do the same to the rear tho.
(If I can convince you to build the bronco I want, then I can buy it from you years down the road...)

Re: 5.5" Toms Bronco suspension kit
If I did go with a 5.5" suspension lift, would I have to do something to adjust the pinion angle, what about radius arms? Remember, I am running full width axles?

Re: 5.5" Toms Bronco suspension kit
The front pinion angle is going to be ok. Its a high pinion D44 right? 5.5" will give you more clearance between the diff & oil pan (or mine hits my exhaust).
The rear pinion angle will probably need adjusted, but that is easy with shims, or if you haven't reset your rear perches to match the EB, do it then.

Re: 5.5" Toms Bronco suspension kit
The 78/79 axles have a little more caster built into the front axles than EB axles. So you'll have to put it together & measure to figure caster. Long arms will help with caster, but you should be able to correct with degreed bushings & regular arms.

Re: 5.5" Toms Bronco suspension kit
hmmmmmm,, I'm sitting on a rock hard supposeded 3.5" superlift. But I measure 11" from top of the front axle to the bottom of the frame now. Any thoughts if this lift would settle into that same range or would I gain another true 1 and 1/2? Brett

Re: 5.5" Toms Bronco suspension kit
I'm sick of staring at the of suspension parts in my garage. First $450 takes this kit home. I'll leave this open for a week before dealing with the 'chuckle-heads' from CL then the price will be going back up to $600. I would rather see this go to a CCB member.
As I said before, "I was assured all the parts needed to install the kit were included." That being said it most likely has everything you need.

It will be on my bronco on Saturday hopefully, I'll take a before and after. It should be a huge altitude adjustment from the sagging stock 68' setup

Re: [Sold] 5.5" Toms Bronco suspension kit
Good score. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. 5.5" was a little high for my goals, but at that price it was too tempting for me not to make a try for it.

Re: [Sold] 5.5" Toms Bronco suspension kit
I'm kinda a documentation geek and measure things like height at all four corners now and again after the lift, and also approach and departure angles...
But before and after pics work just as well.

I just want to thank you for buying this before I had to and ended up sleeping in the garage with my bronco on Valentines Day.
