Post proper metal cutting tool recomendations
Hey all, My Transfer case refuses to go into 4 high and it appears to be contacting the floor so I need to make some room. What would work best to open up the hole in floor to allow this thing to move? I just inherited a bandfile 1/2" wide belt sander from work... would a cutting wheel on that be enough? Thanks as always

What about bending the shifter shaft back some so it doesn't contact the floor? Just a thought.

I'd guess the 3" grinder on the sander would work, if it can take a grinder wheel. Lots of other choices, if you want to buy a tool or two. 3" or 4" grinder, jig saw, air saw, nibbler, etc.

Do you have a body lift? The added body lift can make the floor & stick interfere. If not, the shifter might be getting old and need rebuilt/replaced. That was my case & I ended up twin sticking it.

Good luck
Chad

I do intend to twin stick it after Christmas... just need to get through any snow before then. It does not have a body lift as far as I can tell but it has the Duff shifter which is sort of rectangular and odd. I would have preferred to just bend it but oh well. Gonna get some better tools... got a lot of other bodywork to do anyways. Thanks
