My proportioning valve (less than a year old) is leaking. I have read that this is not all that uncommon for these pieces that all the vendors sell.

Is there a better part available, or should I roll the dice with another one of the same.

Is there any issue with running the front brakes direct, and using an adjustable proportioning valve on the rear. My brake warning light has never worked so this is not a concern.

I'd contact whoever you bought the valve from about warrantying it. You can use a stock H-block with an adjustable prop valve on the rear circuit. I almost went this route.

I just use the H block without a prop valve at it works fine.

Most of the late 70's ford trucks have valves you can reuse on a bronco.

Those after market ones are roughly the same shape but are prone to leaking.

Supposedly there is a little valve that can be replaced to stop the leak.

This is the OEM version for a Bronco.

They can be had new for 400.

If you don't buy it, I will for a back up.

Thanks for the advise, I was quite frustrated.
I put the stock H block back in and it seems to work fine in all the conditions I have tested .
If in the future I decide I want a proportioning valve, I will get the willwood adjustable one.
