Who's installed the WH hood shocks and are there any nuances I should know about (OEM hood).

I've had them for about a year but still haven't gotten to installing them. If I can get my spare hoods to the house from
Penrose this weekend I'll get them installed and let you know.

I have the similer product from Jeffs for my fiberglass hood and love em.

Yea...I'm concerned they won't fit on mine. My MAF filter and tube is right where the shock would collapse into.

You should be fine. They hug pretty close to the fender.

That's the problem...my filter butts up against the fender. Might have to relocate it a bit.

My complaint with the WH and others is they use a strut with inadequate force and they have very short life. I now am using some ebay versions that had double the force. So far they are still working and the hoot jumps right up. Now Autozone sells replacement struts so its easier to replace them.

I would also look at the longer mounts on the hood. The shorter ones tend to make the hood fold. I think duff carries them

They are installed:) But only after...

1. Removing and re-positioning the set of EFI relays and fuses.
2. Calling WH to get clarification on instructions.
3. Stripping one of the sheet metal screws and going to Ace for a new one, that didn't work, so I used a bolt.
4. Finding my stubby power drill because the hydroboost was in the way of drilling holes.

All in all it wasn't that bad. And the shocks are MORE than enough....no need to get stronger ones. The hood flies up after you get it about 1/4 of the way. Very nice upgrade.

Looks like you have even better engine access as the hood is higher than stock "open" position ?

Yep...noticed I have to reach up a bit higher to grab it.

Heck, that alone makes it a worthwhile install.
