Post Ice and Water Shield Roofing Underlayment
Ok --

So I have had the new carpet for my 75DBE sitting in the garage for a couple of years now and I finally want to get it installed. I was going to follow the advice of someone that posted on the forum a while back to use Ice and Water Shield roofing underlayment instead of Dynamat or HushMat for soundproofing. My question is, other than doing a good cleaning, does anyone think that I need to do anything else to prepare the surface before I install the Ice and Water Shield?

Thanks,

JP.

All you need to do is clean it so it can stick. I used Windex. I applied the same stuff on the roof of my Bronco and it worked great. Go to Hobby Lobby and get a 4 inch wood roller. They are a couple of bucks and work great to push the stuff down smoothly. Stuff works great!

you can also use that prep stuff they sell at any hardware store. I use it to prep parts for paint, doesn't strip off paint it just cleans it really good - prepall or something can't remember the name.

I used that on the entire interior of my 76 before i stuck thermo king in there and used a screw driver handle to make sure everything was stuck good. The roller is a great idea as well.

Also you should seal up all of those holes in the tub before you do it, or it'll hold water and rust quicker

What holes? :-) Those aren't no stinkin holes, those are classic air vents!
