Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
I have officially moved ALMOST all my crap from Sedalia to my new old home in Capitol Hill but still need to move my pony and her top. I'm willing to pay cold hard cash to anyone who can help. It's in my barn at my place two miles outside of Sedalia. I have almost run out of favors asking friends to help so I thought I'd see if anyone was really bored and short of cash and could think of nothing they would rather do than move a heavy and awkward hard top.
I totally understand if suddenly everyone is busy, so any suggestions on how to get it here - and as you all know putting it back on the actual bronco is not an option.
My utility trailer is too small to haul it. I do have a friend with a horse trailer that it might fit in, but I thought I would turn to the group as surely I am not the first one with this dilemma.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Now back to more unpacking....

Re: Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
Well, if you can wait for about a week or so, I could do it when I get back from Moab.
No cash necessary.

Bronco karma also holds its value better than the dollar and Euro.

Re: Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
If I can help with the move, I am very happy to do so. I live in highlands ranch so meeting someone in Sedalia to help load is no biggie.
I Insist I be paid in the same EBK (early bronco karma) as Rox tho. And if neede, I am not going anywhere, so I can do it sooner than the Moab clan. Just let me know

Re: Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
Thank you all. Right now I'm scheduled to close on selling the Sedalia house on May 15 so as long as I have it out of there by then I'm good. If the closing gets moved up, I'll let you know.
I also need to clarify - the monster Dodge is no longer part of my clan so in addition to strong willing help, I also need the vehicle to transport the top.
Like I said, I will pay in karma, beer, money, food,
You guys are the best!

Re: Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
Hey guys. Is the offer to help move my hard top still out there? I close on the old house on Thursday and I know the buyer is ok if I have to leave the top in the barn a day or so, but I would like to get it moved before then. I realize our weather is going to throw us a curveball tomorrow. Any chance we could get it moved early next week? I really appreciate your help! Mandy

Re: Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
Howdy Mandy,
I was thinking it might have already gotten done.
I could come down and pick it up today but don't have time to deliver it to your new digs in the city.
Let me see if I can round up some help.
I assume you are around today ?

Re: Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
Rox rocks!!!!
Thanks so much for your help today. I really appreciate it. Also enjoyed your supervisor and spotter :)
Now I need to build that hoist in my garage. I would love to have the specs. Might be a good snowy Sunday project.
Thanks again! Mandy

Re: Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
So I bought the 2x4's and four ratchet straps and 8 eye bolts. So I can have my hoist ready for my top, how far apart should the bolts be? Like how far apart in the 2x4's and what is the spacing so I don't have to drill a bunch of useless holes in my garage rafters? Since my top is currently vacationing at Rox's place, I can't measure it. Thanks !

Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
Just measure the width of the bronco bed. I put eye bolts through the 2x4 s and bolted the top to them then ran the straps from the eye bolts on the bottom of the 2x4. I just wanted to get the top hoisted up and wasn't so concerned about installing it by myself so not the most elegant solution but works.
If need a hand I can help. I love near north wash park

Re: Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
I would measure the bed but my truck is getting some tweaking at the shop. So just a approximate distance between the bolts - 5' on the width? How far front to back?
I would love some help. Rox is going to bring me the top on Friday afternoon I think. Are you going up north on Sat for the car show?

Re: Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
Just measured my top for you. Just about 60" across the bottom of the top.

Re: Need to move my hard top to Cap Hill
Once again, Rox ROCKS! delivered my hard top and helped me get it ready to hoist to my 100+ year old garage roof. You all are the best and I can't wait for the next get together. I'm buying!
