Code scan for 2008 Sequoia
The wife's Sequoia threw the SRS Warning light on our trip back from Cali the other day. I'm pretty sure the issue is the clock spring (spiral cable) but I'd like to pull the code and verify as that isn't exactly a cheap part ($200ish). Anyone have a scanner that could read it?
I live in Erie but I'm traveling to Lincoln and I25 tomorrow and could drive it down.
Thanks!
Adam

I have a pretty sophisticated code reader/diagnostic tool and live in Parker but you can go to just about any auto parts store (Oreilly's or Advance) and they will scan it for free. PM me if you want to meet tomorrow or just go down to your local parts store.

I work in Lafayette and keep a Bluetooth code scanner in my car. You're welcome to swing by if you want it read.

Re: Code scan for 2008 Sequoia
Since it is SRS that needs scanned I don't think a bluetooth ELM unit or a parts monkey would be of much use. They are primarily for OBD2 only.
I do have Toyota Techstream on my laptop, but it's untested. If you can swing it by in the evening I'd be happy to try it.

Re: Code scan for 2008 Sequoia
Car Gauge Pro does the SRS codes on my Superduty. And it picked up an ABS sensor code on a Taco at work, and cleared the code after we installed the wheel sensor.
Torque doesn't even scan my engine code on my Superduty, when the CEL is lit. Weird.

I have an Actron CP9185. Not a fancy bluetooth but it does the job.

Re: Code scan for 2008 Sequoia
I'm going to meet up with 76fordbronco tomorrow. If that doesn't work I'll hit up efi guy. I'm pretty certain it is the spiral cable and from what I understand it should throw a specific code to that.
Thanks to everyone for the help. Just another thing keeping me from working on the Bronco.

76fordbronco's scanner couldn't pick it up. EFIGuy, I'll PM you about setting a time to swing by.
Thanks!

Re: Code scan for 2008 Sequoia
Much thanks out to EFI Guy for getting me the right code. Based on that, I was able to track down a loose connection and save myself from a $2400 seat/airbag.
Took me awhile to get time to look at it but I'm very grateful.
