It's time to consider selling my Bronco
Well, 3 weeks ago my last child got married. It's time to start preparing to downsize, and one of the things that'll have to go is the Bronco.
My daughter and her husband have already said they want to buy it.
So what I need to do is come up with a reasonable and likely price for the Bronco, then I'll back it off by some amount for her price. I know she's secretly hoping that I'll just give it to her, but I learned long ago that my kids only value things when they have worked for. Give them something and they treat it like it's worthless.
I could use a little help because I've never spent much time looking at what Broncos sell for.
Here's the general specs
1970 Fresh 302 (8,000 miles on it) 3spd on the floor Dana 40 front Front disc (Chevy) Power Steering Quadrajet carb Electronic ignition 4 shoulder belts reworked heater Lousy paint (keep the thieves away) No rust No lift Uncut
what it needs
new fuel lines roof liner wiring under the dash reworked new bumpers tires getting old
Any ideas?
PS: They live in the Springs, so there'll be fresh blood in the club

You have a desirable Bronco because it is very close to stock, I'd start at 10k.

$500. It's your kid dammit.
If your still trying to teach them value lessons, it's too late.

Clay,
I don't understand.
Just last night, my wife and I offically became empty nesters too and one of the things I am most looking forward to is working on my stuff, being able to find my tools and hopefully spending more time and money on my projects
Which do include my bronco of course
One of us is not thinking right

Re: It's time to consider selling my Bronco
Clay - I'm sorry to hear you selling it. I can see your point tho and I am sure it was not an easy decision. Your rig is nice and with a new paint job, would look very awesome! I'm not too in touch with values, but it seems the guys are inline. I just wonder if since your daughter is hoping it'll be free, will she be prepared to pay as much as you want, even with the family discount. On the other side of the coin, it will be theirs and they may not treat it was you have had hoped. Are you prepared for that? Or even sell it in a few years?
In any case, I am glad to see you want to keep it in the family, and I hope that whomever is the new owner really does care for it.
