Having an ophthalmologist tell you that 9 hours is enough time for a clean flake of steel to rust while it's in your eye.

It does, but it'd be nice if it didn't leave the rust behind when the flake gets taken out. That happened Sunday, and I'm looking at another 1-2 weeks of unhappy eyeball while it works on spitting out the rust.

Did they grind on your eyeball? I've had each of my eyeballs ground on once. One was a piece of metal had fallen out but left too much rust behind and the other was the piece was still in there. First one made me dizzy afterwards cause they patched my eye for 6 hours and the second gave me one of the worst headaches of my life but they gave me Vicodin for it. Neither one took more than 24 hours to feel like 100% again.

They offered, I declined. It'll heal on its own over time and I don't like medical stuff.

I ended up picking a sliver of steel out of my own eyeball with a needle because the ophthalmologist wouldn't take it out and it was bugging me too much to sleep.

That will make you a 100% believer in safety glasses.

Magnets!
Mechanical hard drives have pretty good magnets to help balance the read/write arms... I think; I don't really know how they work.
I trashed some old, failed hard drives but kept the magnets.
I used one to get a shaving off my eyeball about 6 months ago. I now keep one with the emergency tweezers.

So I think i found my trans issue. I seem to think the fluid is foaming. It seemed to have stopped leaking/puking recently. That is until I finally drove it down the highway. Saturday morning I drove it to work. And when I got there it had puked a ton!!! But driving locally in town at slow speeds it doesnt do it.

So my question is whats a good quality ATF? I have advance auto type f now as that was the only type f I could find.

I believe all type f is the same regardless of the brand name. I know Landshark's rebuilt c4 did its final puke on I25 heading north @ 65+ mph. I don't think he's had a problem since.

Yep, it's all the same. What did you find out with the dipstick length?

I have the correct tube with dipstick. They are to just reach the curve right?

Whats the thread size and pitch of the vent on the trans?

And is the front line off the trans to the cooler and rear is return?

And I dont believe all fluid is the same. We have had issues with gear oil doing this in rear diffs. Run the cheap stuff and going down the highway it foams and pukes out the vent. Changed to good fluid and issues stopped.

Just when I think everything is working right.
So I've been hearing a knocking in the engine. I pulled the
valve covers and I found 3 pushrods lose and I also found a flattened camshaft how wonderful. Due to that I'm going to have to miss out on the bronco safari :-(
I'll try for next year lol
My old man always said it is what it is just fix it.

Got home from work with some daylight left. Jumped into a 30 minute oil change before the 20 degree temps became single digits. Drained the oil and fuel bowl. Had the wrong fuel filter. Trip to the parts store. Back to the house. Wrong filter for oil bypass. Trip across town for other parts store.

Total time to change oil: 3:00 hours. Temp at completion: 6, -6 with windchill.

So, I got to drive this today. Why does that suck?

Because I was stuck in stop and go traffic the entire time! I couldn't stretch it's legs, but wanted to sooo bad. The feeling was probably like the equivalent of a crackhead that just scored a big fat crack rock but no lighter in sight.

Stripping the bleeder while trying to finish the disc brake swap I started last fall. Not a major thing but annoying. Have to get the replacement tomorrow and then will need to find a time where my wife will volunteer her abilities to push the pedal down repeatedly. Bleeding brakes never seems to go easy or fast for me. At least the pedal firms up if you give it a pump. I'm guessing at this point it's just air in the system and I just need to keep at it.
