Re: Finally doing it
Watch the movie Smokin' Aces. Or at least the shootout in the elevator. That will give you a fairly accurate depiction of what some concealed carry shootouts are like. The object of the "game" is exercise proper situational awareness to ensure the situation is either avoided or stopped before you're within two yards of your life ending.
I tell people all the time that having a permit makes me even less confrontational now. Mostly because I realize that ANY argument or situation can now lead to a scenario where a deadly weapon could come in to play; either drawn by me or accidentally discovered and drawn by a person I am involved in a physical altercation with.

Re: Finally doing it
I've had mine for several years now and recently got insurace from USCCA. Along with the defense insurance they have a list of lawyer's in your area. Do I think we should have to worry about needing this? No, however we live in the "We sue for any reason" time and figured this would hopefuly not wipe the bank. I'm sure you could find other places to get this if you google it. My take on the training is that it's none of ANYONE'S business what training I do or do not have... Most people that have canceled permits will seek out more training on there own without being told to.
