Re: explorer 5.0 alumninum oil pan with pickuptube
Related tech question: how to these fit compared to the stock stamped steel one? I'm pretty sure something is wrong with the dipstick mount on mine and would love to get rid of the leak around the riveted plate. The problem is that my track bar makes gentle contact with the stock pan and I'm guessing this won't flex like my current one. rooster, how much are you looking to get? If this will work with my setup I'd like it.

The aluminum explorer pan fits fine. They were prone to cracking though. The dipstick goes through the block rail like all late engines.

Viper, I've got no idea where the block rail is. rooster, it'd be low. The Bronco fund has taken a beating over the last year and a half.

The block rail is on the driver side of the engine just above the oil pan and towards the back, how about $30?

Bummer, I don't have provisions for the dipstick anywhere but the oil pan, so I'll have to pass. Thanks, though.

Nope, it goes in through the side of the oil pan.
