Will someone please buy this, cheap ZF5 & 5.8L -CL
This has been listed on CL for a while. http://rockies.craigslist.org/pts/4910479579.htmlOn Western Slope Auto page on FB, he's talking about selling off the bumpers, and threatening to scrap the truck. https://www.facebook.com/groups/western ... 212644737/So you can probably get this cheaper. Sell off the Sterling 10.25 & t-case to offset some cost, too.

I sent him an email. I really want him to give an unreasonable price.

If its a ttb D50, the front hubs are D60 & worth some $, too. There were a few F250s w/D60 solid axles, you could easily get $750 for, by themselves.

I will if its a solid D60 front axle.
If its 4.10s I might could throw down for the front & rear axles, even if its a TTB50.

Re: Will someone please buy this, cheap ZF5 & 5.8L -CL
Its probably not a D60 front, if its a 5.8L. I'd think that would be packaged with more 460s & diesels (high gross weight trucks).

You can use the Dana 50 ring and pinion in a high pinion Dana 44. Look up Jantz Engineering Jana 54. It's about 44% stronger gears than regular Dana 44, the locker if any can be used as well.
If you get a good deal and sell the 10.25 and t-case and then scrap the rest you could end up with free parts and cash in your pocket.

What parts would already be taken, if this was some kind of group purchase?
There isn't much on it that I need.
Want? I wouldn't be too upset to have another whole ZF5 for an SBF.

Re: Will someone please buy this, cheap ZF5 & 5.8L -CL
So it looks like its a ttb50 front with 4.10s.
I'm guessing Justin is interested in the motor & trans.
I'd do the front & rear axles (& maybe driveshafts), but I could be talked out of them. I don't need any of it. I'm only offering because I know I can sell off the stuff I don't end up using. So if you want the axles, I'd back out.

I think its a TTB 50, not 44. I don't think Ben wants a 50, since I just bought one from him last fall, but it was a 3.53 gear.

Yes, I'm interested in the engine and maybe trans. Not sure I can swing the overdrive with my current gearing, but it'd be nice for flat highway use. Gunni, have you been in touch with him? I've traded a couple of emails confirming that it is the TTB 50 front end.

He has responded via the FB page, just questions about the axles & gears.

Re: Will someone please buy this, cheap ZF5 & 5.8L -CL
I'll gracefully bow out, via FB. If you want to low ball him, I'm sure we can split this thing up and come out ahead. We could strip it here, but it would need to get to the front range to get any money for scrap. There are no scrap yards here, and scrap is bought very cheap in Montrose, compared to the front range.

Re: Will someone please buy this, cheap ZF5 & 5.8L -CL
OK, so this truck has 126,000 miles on it. That's low enough to just clean things up a little and drop it in. With as much as my Bronco gets driven (even when it's running), that'll last about a century. I can't swing the total cost of the rig right now and would need help to get and dismantle it. Anyone interested in the other parts?

Could be interested in the trans. Let me know what your thinking. I have a couple of projects pending. Rob C

0.07-0.09/lb for cars. 100-165/ton for scrap iron. A Bronco fresh off the factory line is worth less than 300 bucks at the curb.
