Hey Guys, and Gals...

This is mine that I'm selling. Everything works real nice as it should. I will certainly work with members on the price but in my honest opinion, I think this is every bit of a $12k Bronco!!!

Feel free to criticize rant or praise thumbs up!

$10,500 OBO

That's a good question?
I do know that it still has the Dana 20 with the "T" shifter but I wouldn't even know where to look on the trans for ID codes?

Anyone?

my money's on it being a turbo 400 . l think it takes a lot of work to make a c4 live behind a big block.

Looks like TH400 pan. Not too many trans choices with that BOP bolt pattern.

Other than Broncos seem to have doubled in price within the last month, what makes you believe it is worth $12K ?

It has a truly strange choice of engine, and it was used for snow plowing which I was told put extra strain on a vehicle and made them something to avoid buying.

Not intended as an attack, curious about your thinking.

Post Re: 1971 with Plow
No Problem, None taken!
Well, you don't have to be a Genius to know that a plow puts extra stress on your vehicle! So you were told right!

I'm guessing that Lift kits (higher center of gravity), HO engines, rock crawling, and the such where your Bronco looks like you're trying to wring out a towel puts "extra strain" on the vehicle too. But that didn't deter me from buying my Bronco. Mine didn't come with a Carfax, nor was it Pre-Certified before I bought it. If we all had a Youtube highlight reel of our own Bronco before you bought it from the last 40+ years, we would all still be looking for that pristine $5000 barn find! But guess what, that doesn't exist! It's 2015, not 1994!

You seem really up on your Bronco prices and you said it yourself, there are No Broncos under $10K available on CL.

I do know that people want Broncos!

Some people actually have money and $12k to them is another mans $4K!

Most decent Broncos don't have their original engines any more! Now if you are going to play the Purist card and say that no matter what, it's a Ford and a Ford should have a Ford engine, well I guess that I would agree with you on that point! I personally didn't do the engine swap. I don't know what they were thinking, but I do know that it did take a lot of thought and planning and didn't just go down to the junk yard and buy a $75 302 out of a Maverick with 206,999 miles and sell it as numbers matching!

99% of us don't know the 1st thing about Body work, Welding and Fabrication, Engine and Trans Building and engine swapping, So a rust free (if there is such an animal), or Mostly rust free Bronco that runs good is all most of us want, or need.

Mustangs, Camaros, Chargers, and muscle cars in general have all gone through the roof!
In my mind, Bronco's are just glorified 4x4 muscle cars and It's about time that the Bronco market caught up to where it should be. That doesn't mean that I like it or condone it, it just means that I'm going to have to try harder and be more prepared when a good deal presents itself to me. And I'll get more for mine if I ever have to sell it.

In 1970 a Bronco might have sold for $3450.00.
If you buy that same Bronco today for $12000... The inflation on that $$$ is about $190 a year! Less than $16 bucks a month over 45 years.

Opinions are like A**Holes! Everybody has one!

So to answer your question, that's easy... "In My Opinion", from what I have also observed in the marketplace over the last 20 years... to the right person this is easily a 12 Thousand Dollar Unrestored 1971 Classic mostly rust free Ford Bronco!
It's clean, not dented or rusted to pieces,
It runs and drives, it stops, it's tight with little to no rattles or wind noise... AND it's a BRONCO! BooYa!

I'm not sure that any Bronco has ever been purchased for the seller's asking price? I like the haggling, and the back and forth is just part of the fun in selling a vehicle!

***I want as much money as I can take from you!!!
&
***You want to keep as much money as you can from me!!!
IMHO boxing

....and that's why I'm probably keeping my 78 for now. After doing some math, it's (by it's I'm really referring to EB's in general) just too much for my budget.

I genuinely hope you get top dollar for your rig, like I hope I get for mine!

Post Re: 1971 with Plow
For what it's worth, in 2003 I bought bronco #5. Rust free (yes they do exist) and under 100K for mileage. It came from the Sacramento area of California and when it was purchased by owner #2, it looked as if it quit running in 1990 and left in a field. The person I bought it from got it running and advertised it for $12,000. I paid $8,500. After I bought it I regretted paying that for it but now I believe it is worth approximately $30K. Anyone who has seen my bronco knows its condition. The true value is what you are willing pay for it, not the asking price but sold price. Again, for what it's worth.

Post Re: 1971 with Plow
I think its worth every bit of the $10,500 - just trying to find a bronco that doesn't have to have a bunch of body panels replaced or hidden trouble spots is almost impossible. Add up the cost of panel replacement, time it takes to replace them correctly and have everything line up decent and you could save yourself quite a bit by picking up a decent bronco to begin with and go from there.

Even if it was used as a plow doesn't mean its any less straight then one that wasn't. As we all know they were hand-built and I think we can all agree there isn't one straight original frame bronco out there.. even my 76 which wasn't abused or ridden hard wasn't perfect and never will be.

Anyway as mentioned its value is what someone is willing to pay for it, i think $10,500 is fair but would assume $8500 and it would be gone ;)

I agree!
It is what it is and just because I believe it's worth one amount, doesn't mean that I expect to get that amount.

You can Hope in one hand, and Poop in the other, and what do you have!?!? :bull:
Thanks guys!
It might be heading to Big Sky Country...

I still own MY '72 pos!

The White '71 was going to be my sons. I kept hearing this line about "it's better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission"...What a load of crap that is! Ha!
My son had no interest in it (13 yrs old), my wife thinks that the 1 I had originally is 1 too many, and of course there's this damn money thing she keeps shoving in my face.

So anyway, I did sell it to a real nice fella named Dave, a rancher up in NE Montana. He has run into some bad luck with a couple of his Friends who he thought were Shippers, but it's paid for and just waiting to hitch a ride up North.

I hope I never have to sell MY Bronco!!!!!!!
