Re: Truck Opinions
It's a condensation build up in the intercooler issue.

Re: Truck Opinions
Yeah the condensation issue showed up on mine a few years ago while on a return trip from MN. Ran into rain for almost a whole day on drive back and after just cruising stepping on the skinny pedal would cause condensation to dislodge from the intercooler. This would cause moisture to be taken into the engine causing a severe miss and CEL. Fords fix was to add a larger deflector to the intercooler to make it less efficient. Since we live in such a dry climate we don't see that problem but it's been quite a problem in more humid areas of the country. Some have changed intercoolers among some other things but it seemed to be a pretty perplexing problem to Ford engineers. I'm not sure how they've taken care of it with the newer trucks but my 11 was the first.
Mines been loaded pretty heavy a few times and it towed the load like it wasn't there. Of course I also ordered it with 4.10's just for towing in the mountains. My mileage has been overall 14.5 mpg. I've gotten 20 mpg for a high and 8.5 for a low towing my trailer in the wind.
Good luck with your Ecoboost it's a great engine. Figure it's gotta be since Ford plans on using it in the new GT as well as the Raptor.
