I'm currently registering the "Henry Ford memorial equine research center for the betterment of all mankind" as a non profit. Damn, I feel good about me!

Re: My Broncos are thinking of going "Free Range"
I have a strong desire to build some sort of an obstacle in my yard for the Bronco(s). Anyone else have something like that?

Maybe 5 or 6 Priuses (Priui?) under a boulder pile?

Re: My Broncos are thinking of going "Free Range"
Now that my house is pretty much done...ish on the inside and the yard is coming along, I'm starting to think about a garage / shop . I have a few location options on the lot but my 1st choice requires me to remove / demo a smaller 3 car garage. I'm looking at about 30 x 60 give or take a little bit. It all hinges on a storm drain easement on the west side of my property. I really like old school post and beam construction but costs have me looking at conventional stick built. I figure I need at least a 12 foot ceiling if I am going to ever get a lift. I found some plans I like but they will need to be tweaked a little to work. Hopefully we will get this rolling by spring

Re: My Broncos are thinking of going "Free Range"
I don't know anyone who ever complained about having a garage too big. So I'd say, do whatever you can to make it the largest possible. Consider ventilation along with lighting and heat. And drainage, both on the interior slab and on roof slope. Nothing can suck worse than having ice pile up in front of your doors freezing them shut. And I'm not saying you need a drain on the inside, just make sure it all slopes in a good direction. And paint the concrete while it's new!
Oh and get taller/wider doors than normal. Have you seen those cool openers that do away with the noisy chain or belt driven units? They attach right to the spring shaft.
