Looking for a vehicle for a DD - more unique the better!
So I originally started this thread looking for a Unique DD or half cab. Since this started bronco prices have soared and it's been tough to touch one for anything less than $5k that wouldn't be another project.
I really need a pickup to use while I work on my house, maybe 2 years or so. Since I will be driving it year round and it will be my DD I was looking at mid 80 or 90's Toyota 4x4 pickups or perhaps a ranger. Something small but with a useful pickup bed no more than $5k.
I know the Toyotas will run forever not looking at another project beyond maintenance Thoughts?

I'd see if you can find a 'yota though it may be tough in that price range. They hold their value like . But like you said they'll run forever. I have a Tacoma as my DD and absolutely love it.

I don't care about the mileage so expect I could find something my price range.

Years ago my Dad and Mom would winter in south Texas near where the transmigrantes would cross the border on their way through Mexico to central America. The transmigrantes favorite vehicle was those Toyota pickups. Toyota got those just about right.
