Re: project viperwolfe is starting Still playing with the column. I wasn't sure how I would attach the knob to the lever. They fit together pretty sloppy since I cut off the swaged portion for switch clearance. Turns out the diameters are pretty close to the right size for a 5/16" helicoil to go in between. Spent a few hours tapping and dying. Starting to think it would have been easier to make a new lever.

Re: project viperwolfe is starting Got the switch mod done. The helicoil worked good but it took some thinking to install it because the OD of the switch was bigger than the ID of the helicoil. I had to install the switch first then work the helicoil in with the wires going through it. It only took about 40 hours but I'm pretty sure no one else has one like this. Now I just have to fix up that D.

Re: project viperwolfe is starting Finally got all the parts to finish this column. Already started on the "working" column in the '74. I thought it had a broken collar but it turns out that was the only thing not broken in it. It seems that 300K miles is rough on parts.

Re: project viperwolfe is starting I saw one years ago and it took until just a couple months ago to find the application. '64-'66 chevy truck with the thrift heater option. LMC sells the switch/cable but it's about $70. I found this one on ebay for about 1/2 price.

Re: project viperwolfe is starting It's going slowly but there is some progress occurring. Got the heater rebuilt and modified for the 3 speed fan. Computer is installed. Working on getting the hydroboost installed.

Re: project viperwolfe is starting Got to work on hydroboost fitment today. It went well. Just need to finish the adapter between the HB and the MC, make some hoses, and widen the brake pedal.

Re: project viperwolfe is starting RoxCrusher, 76fordbronco and I hit it hard today. O2 sensors installed. Fuel filler installed, mostly. Put gas in the tank today. Fuel wouldn't pump so tank had to come out. Found fuel lines crossed. Fuel still doesn't pump with any more than a couple psi. Tank needs to come out again after I find a new pump.
