Post Bad wheel bearing
On the way to work this morning and the right front wheel bearing gave out. My question is does it matter what bearings to use even though I have a Chevy disc swap. The rotors and hubs should all b from a bronco right? It's just the calipers and other stuff that is Chevy right?

Yes. Timkin Sets 37 and 45. I can't remember which is the inner and which is the outer.

Progress. So outer bearing went bye bye and welded islet to the spindle. Can't really tell if the hub/rotor got damaged as well. Going to need a parts list. Can everyone help. Still have 6 bolt knuckles. Do you think I should get new hub/rotor or is there a way to test to make sure it didn't get damaged as well? Thank you in advanced.

In the hub, can you feel a groove? I would think that the outer race would have kept the hub in good shape.

Clean d up mostly everything and looks like hub is fine. Races took the blunt of my t and did their job. I do need a new spindle however and can't seem to find one in local parts store. Question is I can't remember but would it be the same spindle I had with my drum brakes? Anyone one have an extra lying around I can trade for a

If you have the Chevy disc on there, you need a spindle from an early 70's Chevy 4x4. Typically pre-77. That will be the 6 bolt disc spindle.

I did some research and it looks like the Chevy swap has a seal pressed onto the axle. That's not my case . I might just have a 76-77 swap that uses the same spindle.

Not sure but I thought the 76-77 spindles were 5 bolt? I would do some research over on CB.com to verify. Do you have the spindle off? If so, maybe a picture could help us identify it.

Yes, Ford Dana 44 disc spindles were 5 hole and the Chevy/Waggy Dana 44 disc spindles are 6 hole. Not sure about a seal being pressed on...never heard of that. This happened to me a couple of years ago, but I had to cut the hub off to get it all apart. I think this is the spindle I bought (found a hub at the junkyard). The spindles are getting harder and harder to find at the junkyard.

Link to spindle:

I think they're made in India, but it was the cheapest I could find.

Yes that's it. Really trying to find one local so I can get this thing back together. I am having to drive my Moms Jeep and it's making me upset. I got my kit from horsepower llc on eBay and that looks like the same one. Kind of interesting none of the parts stores carry them.

Getting ready to put it back the tether and was wondering if there is a seal that goes over the spindle bearing before I bolt it back up. Been looking at some diagrams but do not see anything 100%.

Does anybody have a exploded view on how everything gets put back together. I have a little seal I think that goes on with the spindle but don't really know where. That's pretty much it. The rest I know how to do it.
