Help finding a road for a picture
I'm looking for a spot near-ish to Denver (say within 3 hours drive) to try and recreate this photo with my Bronco and popup camper. I'll be doing some scouting this summer, but I'm open to suggestions. Pictures would be very helpful.

Re: Help finding a road for a picture
2nd for 285, I would think over in the BV/Salida area you ought to be able to get a good shot with some of the Collegiate peaks in the back. If you were willing to go further south I would think a shot with the Sangre De Cristo range would be pretty great too.

Help finding a road for a picture
285 near Princeton hot springs. There are a bunch of dirt roads that parallel the mountains. Would be perfect.

That's what I was coming up with too.

Re: Help finding a road for a picture
That picture has always reminded me of the northern San Luis Valley. The mountains and the flat valley floor look just like it.
But that is probably a bit farther than you want to go.

Re: Help finding a road for a picture
How about off I25 south of Castle Rock north of Monument. The Greenland exit. With the front range in the back ground. Lots of farm and ranch roads in the area.

Does look a little like N. SLV. Hwy 285 just north of Villa Grove: https://goo.gl/maps/UZVtxUMiKDn

Re: Help finding a road for a picture
JD - You must have too much time on your hands....
But yes - I agree, probably some roads closer to the Mtns near the sand dunes.
