I don't know some sort of closely guarded secret. I've been trying to find one for a couple years now in the yards or on eBay without luck.
So, I gave in and bought it from a guy on CB.com. I think he may still have some.

Phil found one in the yard with the integrated compass but no temp sender. He might have paid "slightly" less than me.
