Strange but True
So these are NOS Cessna 310 spinners I got from my grand parents estate. I am not an aircraft guy but was wondering if anyone happens to know somewhere I could unload these other than the scrap yard.

Re: Strange but True
Yeah, I kind of thought about both those. Seen a few on Ebay but shipping would be ridiculous. Just seeing if anyone knows anything, I don't want them to go to waste but I have no need for them.

Re: Strange but True
That would be interesting, pretty sure the Bronco is already wide enough with 37's, and since I am adding full widths going to have to pass. I just would hate for NOS stuff to go to waste.

Re: Strange but True
I'd throw them up on ebay with a $.99 starting bid and $40 shipping fee. A quick search showed them priced at a couple hundred each.

Re: Strange but True
Take them to the airfield in Falcon. I'm sure someone out there will be interested.

Re: Strange but True
Thanks for the input! The couple that have been on Ebay have been there at least 6 months and they have some kind of certification paperwork with them, that was why I was staying away from there. I will probably try it out and see how it goes though. I will try out the Falcon airfield when I have some time, I actually forgot about it. Maybe Fremont also, but I believe that one is unmanned.

Re: Strange but True
I am no aviation expert - at all. My dad had a Cessna 180 for 35 years that he recently sold. Based on that ever so limited amount of knowledge - you are not going to have much luck selling them for actual use on an airplane. The FAA certifies every single thing on a plane - shoot, even the rivets are certified. You can not so much as re-stitch the upholstery with the standard thread you would buy at an upholstery shop.
You might have better luck doing as Justin suggested and selling them as artwork or conversation pieces. Good luck.

Re: Strange but True
Are there markings on them that would help establish them as authentic?

Re: Strange but True
I'm a pilot, own two aircraft right now. Without paperwork your parts aren't worth anything.
I would try selling them on a homebuilt/amateur aircraft website where they can be used in experimental aircraft.

Re: Strange but True
I'd take them before you send them to the scrap yard. maybe be something cool could be made out of them.

Re: Strange but True
I'd be surprised if you couldn't get a decent chunk of change out of these. The nature of aviation grade parts (even trivial ones) makes them very expensive.

Re: Strange but True
Thanks, I knew what they go to, the problem is getting the certification to actually sell them as usable parts for an aircraft. From what I have gathered without the certification they are pretty much worthless as aircraft parts. Since I don't have time to chase down if I could possibly get them certified they have moved on.
