towing with class c
Does anyone have experience towing with a class C motor home. Most likely would be based on a E350 with a 460. I'm curious how well they handle the hills.

Re: towing with class c
My grandpa used to flat tow the bronco all over behind his class c. It was a late 70's chassis that was powered by a carb'd 460. From what I remember it went well but wasnt going to win races. I dont remember the length of the motorhome.

Re: towing with class c
I've got an '88 F-250 with the efi 460. I just rebuilt a later engine(heads flow better and have slightly bigger valves along with better quench) for it. My old engine was pretty tired so it took all it had to pull my bronco on trailer up Eisenhower at 35. Getting on the highway with bronco in tow would net me merging around 30. With my new engine I haven't gotten to tow the Bronco yet but I just towed 4600 pounds of concrete on my trailer(weighs about 600 pounds more than my bronco) and I was able to get on the highway at 65. Much better than the old 460. I did rework the new 460 decently. Full port and polish on the heads and a new speed density friendly cam. New cam is very noticeable above 2200 rpm.
If it is a stock 460 is be surprised if you can pull faster than 35 up any hill. Getting about 4 mpg at that.
