Re: European Ramblings
Great stuff for sure.
I couldn't view the video as it was marked private.

Re: European Ramblings
Anyone else have issues with video? I know I left them public.

Re: European Ramblings
It was marked as public, but I did it again and saved changes. Let me know if that works...

Re: European Ramblings
It's working good for me now.
Some of those guys were really flying by. That would have been unnerving for me.

Re: European Ramblings
It's so hard to believe we've been in Europe for 4 years. What an eye opening experience it's been. What an incredible blessing we've been bestowed. Perhaps we could return someday if not via a duty station, perhaps for vacation.
Below are pictures of our last trip. Again to Lake Bled Slovenia. The water fall is a creek feeding Lake Bohinj. We also visited a castle and a network of caves.
I am thankful that our last day here is nice weather. Not looking forward to the plane ride and jet lag with kids but we will get thru it!
Thanks for following along.
Tschuss!

Re: European Ramblings
Well I thought I had made my last entry in this thread, but I wanted to share a touching experience while en route to home. The 8.5hr flight into Baltimore wasn't all that bad. The kids handled it well and got some sleep. My wife and I didn't get much, but we were feeling ok. We were both annoyed that the only "family" movie on the plane was Edward Scissor Hands. Lame!! I don't recall the airline, but it was one I hadn't heard before.
But we arrive safely at BWI and began the wait for our luggage. We wait and wait and wait! Three families in our group; 7 kids below the age of 7. They were beginning to get restless. The luggage began to trickle in and finally 2 hrs after we left the plane, we are leaving the luggage carousel. As we exit the secured area, we hear cheers and waving of the US flag and the shaking of hands welcoming us home. Of course, there were a lot of folks on that plane who had been deployed to the sand box and we knew that is who they were targeting...and who deserved all this. But they handed out goodie bags and thanked all of us for our service just the same. Bless their hearts. They waited up late just to do this for us on a weekday night and waited just as long as we had, if not longer and were there until the last of us 400+/- passengers left. There were Veterans, retirees, girl scouts, families, etc. It gave me a renewed hope in Patriotism, and in America!! Thank you whoever you are!
