With prices going sky high....
So as a normal guy making normal money that has a had a donkey for many year seeing the skyrocketing prices I am wondering if I need to do one of two things
1. Start buying bits and pieces while they are still somewhat affordable Or 2. Sell the donkey while it is still somewhat rust free and move on?
I dunno, it seems like nobody is really even left on this forum as all the broncos get bought up and sent out of state. Maybe it just cause I have three kids and haven't been on much in the last year

Re: With prices going sky high....
Too many of us are in the build phase. I've had mine since 94 and am now rebuilding. Thanks to kids it hasn't seen the road much in the past 9 years.

This board is plenty active.
For me it comes down to passion for the hobby. If you have the drive for it, stay in. If it's lost it's luster - move on. But chances are slim that these old rigs are going to drop in value anytime soon. So it's not like if you don't sell now, you'll get pennies tomorrow.

Re: With prices going sky high....
There have been a few who moved on, sold to a new owner, some have left the state, that is all true, but this board and club is still very active. For every member and bronco that has left, there have been 2 new ones. Yes - our classics have become outlandishly expensive. At times causing many to re-think their build.
Yes, we can do more to post our daily progress on our builds, we can do more to encourage participation in our monthly breakfasts, we can do more to plan club trail runs etc. And yes, I will do all the above personally.
But as JD said, there are plenty still here, plenty more joining every day (trust me, I see them) and if you have lost the passion for yours, park it for a few months and see how you are feeling. Still don't feel like messing with it? Then sell. The market will still be just as strong, perhaps even stronger. But if you have not truly lost the love, then you can post your plans, progress and experiences which will go a long ways to bringing the board back up to speed.

Re: With prices going sky high....
for me personally... I got burnt out on Bronco's (owning/ building 6 of them throughout my time). That being said, I still follow the forum cause of friends & if I have any advice i can offer on whatever topics are applicable. Seem's like any and all pre 80's vehicles will eventually go up in value. Look at model A's, you used to be able to get a body for $300, now you cant touch a good body under $5k. Heck look at Pinto's, odd ball Dodge's, Jeeps, F series trucks even the million of pre 80's chevy trucks are making a climb. As JD & Greg said, if you have a passion for EB's keep it and gather parts, If not don't be afraid to move on. Heck I don't even miss my last Bronco, I'm loving my new-to-me '79 F150. Maybe cause its something different, or whatever. It does seem that everyone with a Bronco thinks there's is worth $20K, when guys like us know that junk is still junk. Gotta love the Discovery channel build shows for boosting the market on all aspects of built, cool vehicles.
