Hey, wondering if you have any tips with reinstalling Pittman arms. When I put the nut on, the entire part spins. So.the nut isn't actually threading on. Not sure if that makes sense. Also, all of my boots got destroyed during the uninstall. I assume I should buy some new boots somewhere?

I believe you are referring to the tie rod ends.



yes they can spin. The trick is to put some pressure on the tie rod so the tapered section seats tight in the knuckle or pitman man. That will stop the rotation.

As for boots, if you are using a brand like Moog or similar, it is usually possible to find replacement boots online. Try to avoid using a pickle fork for removal, they tend to destroy boots. A proper ball joint tool works much better.

You can get red polyurethane boots at Autozone in the performance suspension section....I've had to use them before.

i have used a jack with a 4x4 on it to put pressure on the bottom of the Rod end to stop the spinning.
