Colorado House Hunting
Guys,
I'm looking to move my family of 5 to the Monument, Colorado area. We've sold our house in the DFW area and thought we had a house in Monument, but it seems our real estate agent did a poor job of representing us in the deal and we lost it to another offer. The house we apparently missed out on was on a 5 acre lot in Monument, Colorado for 485k (was a peculiar house and a great price.). The property had a creek at the back of the acreage that would have been perfect for my 3 kids.
Anyway, I thought I would post on here in case anybody knows of anyone contemplating selling their house in the very near future. We'd like to be on a few acres ideally. I would be happy to work a deal that excludes the realtors commission and thus financially benefits both buyer and seller.
I appreciate any leads.
Thanks, Dave

I have two friends that are realtors in that area. Can pass their info along. If nothing else pans out.

I can also recommend our realtor if you're looking for another. He's no slouch. We don't tolerate laziness when we are looking for houses (about every 4 years).
What sites are you looking at? Militarybyowner.com could be one to add to your list.

Re: Colorado House Hunting
Thanks to everyone for getting back with me. My apologies on not replying as I thought I would get an email saying my thread had received a response. I went ahead and checked the thread thinking these Colorado guys can't be such bums...someone has to reply.
Haha
We have a realtor in the Colorado Springs/Monument area. She is doing her best. We need to be headed that way by June 1st, so my guess is we are going to have to rent until we can find something we like.
In other news, are there any bronco owners in the area that are absolutely dying to help a guy get his bronco up and running? I swapped in a 5.0 from an explorer over a year ago and never got to get it up and running before my wife made me pull out the bronco and build my sons bed.
I don't know what I'm doing so I'm sure I'm going to have to ask someone for some help at some stage.

Re: Colorado House Hunting
485k on 5acres with creek? Sounds cheap to me. I live in Co spgs and work in Monument. We’re fighting an extremely low inventory of homes right now. My in laws are moving into town and they were 1 of 5 putting an offer in on a 1700sg ft home on 2.5acres. Took all of 2 days on the market to sell for 10% more than asking. I’d focus on the Black Forest area and just north. We’ve seen many Denverites moving down here to get more bang for their buck which has moved prices higher. Good luck in your search.
I’m also about to do Explorer swap but do already have one done(by someone else) that I’m planning as using as a blueprint. You’re more than welcome to do the same and look at it potentially troubleshoot...if it helps.

Re: Colorado House Hunting
Hey jgrow,
I agree 485k with the 5 acres was cheap. It had three offers (although ours was the first) by the weekend. We were told we would get a chance to respond but that chance never occurred.
I would love to to piggy back your swap. I've already swapped the engine over a year ago, but need to run new fuel lines, install new headers etc. I could use another set of eyes (preferably a set that knows more than I know. I'm faking it til I make it).

Re: Colorado House Hunting
Hi Dave, house hunting is a rough game here right now, I don't envy you. I live in Palmer Lake, just 4 miles west of Monument depending on which direction you come from. Always happy to meet another bronco nut. My Bronco is a project, and it doesn't look like I will have access to work on it this summer, so I would be interested in wrenching if you need a hand. I have not done an EFI swap. PM if you need anything. Good luck with the move.

Re: Colorado House Hunting
Look at the Falcon/Peyton area. Some houses have acreages and even RV garages as well. Homes are off of Meridian Road.
