Post Thermostat ?
I’m running a 302 with mustang EFI. When I added the efi everything I was reading said to go with a 180 degree tstat. The only issue that in the winter it doesn’t seem to warm enough to power the heater. What do you all think? Never had any overheating issues during the summer but definitely under heating issues in winter.

I'm running the Explorer EFI with a '74 long block and I went with the stock Explorer thermostat (193 or 195 I think). My gauge doesn't get much higher than 180-185. Heater has worked well this winter. I'm also running the plastic Explorer clutch fan that sucks some serious air!

I’m pretty sure we put a 195* in mine.

I‘ve got the 195* T-stat in my 351W with mustang EFI. What amazes me is how much difference there is in heater air temp when engine is at 180* vs 195*. Engine will be nicely warming up at 180 and the air out of heater ducts is barely warm, compared to nice and hot when engine finally reaches full temp.

I have a 195 too. Great heat in the winter when it's not in the garage in multiple pieces

This is interesting as I’m about to do a new thermostat and Flowkooler pump on my Cleveland and never even considered that heater would be affected

So after a quick trip to the parts store, I got some info from them that might be interesting. Of course it is from a parts store. Most broncos run n from factory from either a 160 or 180 * thermostat. Most of the efi motors in the mustangs and explorers are around the ~192*. Got me a newer t stat that has a higher temp to see how that works.
