Looking to buy a crate 302 for my 69
Hey guys, I am looking to buy a crate 302 for my '69. I have been looking online but I am pretty green to buying a motor and honestly not to sure what I really need. This will be a daily driver for my wife so I don't want to spend an arm and a leg if i don't need to. Any suggestions?

Look at blueprint. They build a bronco specific 302

Re: Looking to buy a crate 302 for my 69
Personally, and I know it's not the original question, but I never, ever, recommend a 302 to anyone who needs to repower their Bronco. The 351W is just a much better engine in an EB.
Yes, I run a 5.0 in one rig, but it weighs 2700#, not 4700# like most trail rig EBs.
Yes, it can be a bit more expensive for some specific builds; however, totally worth it. With a carb or FITECH setup, pretty much even cost.
As for where to get one, assuming you're doing the labor, Blueprint, Jasper, ATK, etc... are all good choices. Summit Racing is a major vendor who sells many of those.
And there are several local vendors who build quality engines, can't tell where you are from your sig. HTH, Joe

I would 2nd going with a 351W. Not only a bigger, torquey'r engine, it has bigger bearings, rods, etc. It can run at higher power levels for longer without failure.

With all the install support do a 351w. I have a great 351c but it’s big in weird places and is more work for the same gain I’d assume

Re: Looking to buy a crate 302 for my 69
I am in a similar boat, but mine is a '77 and subject to smog inspections. So I am guessing my best bet to get some power, and still pass the visual test is to get a blueprint 302 with EFI and keep the smog pump and other components. Anyone recommend a shop that could a swap like this in the Louisville area?
Thanks
