Anyone in Aurora area know how to die/tap a new thread?
I have two bolts that snapped supporting my transmission cross member. I've tried penetration oil and an extraction bit and also torching it out. Neither worked. I got the bolt free just from drilling through. But now I have no threads and a bigger hole. Figured I'd seek help before I really screw it up.
Anyone out there who knows how to do this?

Go get a tap set from Harbor Freight and you would tap it by hand slowly and careful to keep it straight. It’s not complicated at all.

If you can weld a nut to the bolt you can just turn it out. Its the easiest way I have found to get a snapped bolt out.

Got it. Thanks B.O.B. for letting me borrow your kit. Easier than expected.
