I want to remove this rust before it starts to eat the steel. Any suggestions?
I'm not ready for a complete paint job yet, but figure I better do something here soon.

I don't think there is much you can do that won't look bad or require paint work. You really need to strip it down and hit it with some rust converter, or cut out the bad stuff and start over. I wish I had a better suggestion.

Yeah do it now or you’ll be in my shoes dude. It doesn’t get better, easier, or cheaper.

I think you are doing it the best way possible without stripping the tub. What I see in your pics is what I imagined as best case scenario.

Thanks things are good. Still settling into a new life here. Trying like hell to get my shop done. It's very hard to find electricians and plumbers willing to take the work. When I do they want $2000+ per day in labor. So I'm doing most of it myself.

A buddy just told me you can use corn kernels as media blaster, but he’s not a body guy so who knows.

I just cut out my old rear quarter and before welding new metal to old, I’d like to clean it up first & hit it with rust treatment. The issue I’m having so far is rust treatment seems to impede the welding process...so, how to get the treatment between two panels?!!

I’m ready to install new b-pillars & quarters...last thing I want is to do all this work & see rimust come through the paint in 5 years.

Mini bead blaster is "ehh"... Ok I guess but not real good getting in the groove. Makes a mess. Lol

Sprayed encapsulation fluid on and brushed it in the gaps. Another coat in 20 minutes.

Overall there wasn't much rust inside, luckily.

Primer on 48 hours after final cure.

Glad you caught it. I've acquired my broncos when it was too late for this sort of method. It's just great to see you save a bronco body!!

Bronco creep is real. There's a reason mine spends so much time on jackstands. Besides fishing, that is.

So, Adam inspired me to finish mine. It's still a 15 footer but no more rust seams!

Notice the custom electrical contacts for my brake light bucket. Juicefruit?
