Re: Help starting a 302/EFI Engine for the first time
I can't Thank ECK, TOOLMAN and ROX CRUSHER enough for coming out on such a cold Sat to help with the start up along with EFIGUY & VIPERWOLF take some "Phone a Friend question".
Once we figured out a few wiring gremlins we double check the items on the list, primed the fuel check for leaks and determined that a starter will not start/work without a ground LOL it was time to key up (2pm exactly). With plenty of oil, transmission fluid, water and power steering fluid on hand to fill during the break in it was time.
I've never started a new motor up and it was great having multiply people to check for leaks, adding fluid and just checking everything during the longest 30 minutes of my LIFE !! to say I was nervous is an understatement !!! The engine fired right up and we were able to break in the cam with really no issues but a minor power steering leak. We then were able to have a celebrative beverage
. Jason and Mike suggested a couple of upgrades that I'm working on and almost have all the engine wiring reworked and installed. I forgot to take video or pictures during the start up but I think Jason may have a video.
And yes
