Looking for the ZF 5 transmission from the small block 4X4 donor. Anyone have one available.

I don't have the trans,But I do have the AA adapter. New in box.And you're right up the street..

FYI i need it to bolt to a small block with an atlas 2sp coming off of the rear. I wont have the Dana 20 bolted to it.

I think the ZF bolts directly to the Atlas, but needs a spacer (it does to the 4 speed Atlas). I have a 1" spacer that I didn't use. I went to a 1/2" spacer just to get as much space as possible due to the length of the 4 speed. If you want the 1" spacer let me know. It's been mocked up but never run, minor scratches from test fitting.

Yes, the ZF5 does bolt straight to the Atlas. It does require a spacer, but I went the simple route and shortened the output shaft by 1/2".

I believe that was a good move on your part by not forcing it. What vehicle did the transmission come from.

I'm not exactly sure what it came from bought it from Craigslist ad. It has a 1989 date code if I remember. From what I've read most came in F250s, but some were in F150s.

I have another ZF I found since but haven't test fit or measured the output shaft/splines to compare. I don't remember the date code from that one.

As best I know late 80's to mid 90's F250 that had a 351W, my master cylinder is from a '95 F250. I will take a look and see if I can find my info from when I did the swap. I would be careful with the F150, thought they came with a M50D.

Just look at the tag on the driver's side of the transmission. It will have a ZF and Ford logo and right below that, a P/N. You want the S5-42 or S5-47
