I need help
I live in denver just east of downtown. I can't seem to get the engine to stay running if no starter fluid is being used. Can anyone come give me a hand that knows more about engines than i do. New carb, new fuel pump but it dies as soon as it's out of starter fluid. Gas in filter beside carb. I just want to take it around the block to check my power steering work and brakes but i am lost when it comes to the engine at this point.

Re: I need help
We are going through the same problem with Cam’s Bronco. He is about to swap out his third mechanical fuel pump in a year. Our last fuel pump went bad in just under two weeks so you might start there?

Re: I need help
I’d put an inline fuel pressure gauge close to the carb on it first to check that you are getting fuel pressure. Then you can start chasing issues from there.

I need help
An easy test to check if the pump is working is unplug it from the carb and run it to a gas can where you can see the flow or not.
Send me a pm with your contact info and I’ll see if I can swing by and give some further advice.
