Is it worth the rush to do it in Colorado? Is the MO process more difficult?

i was wondering about titling, so if its not running and driving I will not be able to switch the title over? I can wait but was thinking of getting the 72 in my name.. haven't done any research - lazy i know

Ok I have the title and its signed by the owner who sold it to my buddy. The date on the title is 2005 I think. I guess I will be paying some fees to get this thing titled in my name. The seller looked to be elderly and he filled in the mileage as the date. Hopefully can make this work as I don't think the guy is still around.

The max is $100 dollars in late fees + back taxes, so not too much.

Well, we're already off to a bad start. Tonight I finished putting the builder 351 on the stand so I could do a quick check of it and figured out where it needed attention before reassembly. Turns out cylinder #3 had a ridge line of rust around halfway through the stroke. After some scrubbing and light scraping it's turning over by hand easily and the bore feels mostly smooth. So, I'm going to put it back together and see what sticks to the wall. It only has to RUN, not run well. That being said, I'll be prepared to pull my roller block as a replacement of necessary.

Also, an update on my already to tight timeline. The buyers requested the closing be moved to 3 days earlier. So, now the movers are likely coming a week earlier.

This project might be moving to the auto craft shop on Fort Carson before it even gets to my house.

Are lifters supposed to be concave?

This came out from the #3 cylinder intake valve. To say the cam is wiped would be generous. And out of the four spare parts cams I have here, all are rollers and will not work. So, I'll just drive on (with another lifter in the pocket) and keep my fingers crossed that I can make it through the inspection on 7 cylinders.


Should be finished buttoning it up by Wednesday. Then I'll start into the pile o' C4.

I guess worse case scenario... you have this build thread you can show the Po Po and get your axles, wheels, tires, engine, seats, etc. back?

If the rightful owner of the Bronco does not claim it within 30 days, it will be transferred to the towing company for disposal/sale. If CSP values it at less than 350.00, it must be parted out or sold for scrap. If it values higher than 350.00, it can be sold and titled.

So if it is valued less than 350, you can't get it titled again ?

Well, here's to hoping the value comes in at 351

Dude that sucks!

Having been a tow truck driver I can say that the CSP officer doing the evaluation will most likely accept input from the towing company (whether they want to resell or crush). And..as long as no one working at the towing company really wants it, they would most likely sell it to you if you express interest. Let them know you are interested in buying it back, but don't give them any idea of it's potential value. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for ya!

Having seen rusted busted Broncos with no title on CL for $700 and gone in less than two days I would say it's a sure bet on $351+
